Are the Chevy truck hoods from 47-55 1st all the same?

Sorta...The emblem mounting points (I believe) are different. Might be some differences on the internal bracing, as well. :confused: Hope this helps.

Thats what i thought. The emblems really aren't a problem i can fill and put new holes in if need be.

In terms of fit and function the hoods are the same for all 1/2, 3/4 and 1 ton trucks. The 1.5 ton and upward have a different shape at the back corners.

Aren't the 1.5 and up hoods also longer and bigger curves through the fender area? :confused:

guys, yes the 1 1/2 ton and up hoods are longer by approx 3 1/2 inches.but in a pinch you can use the inner rear stiffener/brace on either hood as its the same width. same goes for the front. wink

also,not to take over a post, but save that old hood. as martin sr would say its the same gauge metal as the rest of the truck. so u can use it as patch panel pcs ...easier to weld together wink
