Stainless arms, self parking etc. They will not be syncronized to each other because they're 2 seperate motors but I dont care about that.
I hope to install them in the spring.
Has anyone else done this?

I got a motor and wiper arm from JC Whitney. The motor is just small enough to fit in the hole where the original one was. I had to make a blank cover plate for it. It needs to be flat ie. no indents for the switch like the orig. cover plate. I think you can buy this block-out plate from some of the vendors. Then I drilled a hole in the plate for a push-pull switch, turned the switch on the motor in the on position and wired in the switch.
The only other thing I did was to take about 1/4" off the length of the shaft to make the wiper fit the windshield better. The whole thing was a pretty easy install.

If it's cheap enough for the aftermarket single unit deals and they fit it sounds better than the 180.00 retrofit deals. Depending on what the jc whitney or speedway ones cost.

Newport Engineering makes a direct replacement for the vacuum wiper motor in your '49. I mounts in the same place and uses the same arms to move the vipers. I used mine this morning on the way to work... Your favorite vender probably carries it.

It was an option, and I think the vacuum motors were identical between the AD and early TF trucks, so I don't see any problems. I got mine from, I believe, Chevy Duty. It goes right in, although working under the dash can be a challenge. Also, the switch will not work in the old hole--and they tell you that in the directions.
