I was all set to pull the engine and work on that this winter (here in Michigan) and then start the body tear down in the spring. Then I got to thinking... Should I start the motor first or the body first? Is it healthy to rebuild the motor than let it sit for what might be a year (or two). Looking for sound advice from the all knowing and experienced resto guys. My 59 Apache

I see lots of projects for sale with the motor done, but body needs finishing where the owner takes a real loss on the motor. Just saw an unfinished 50 Merc with $9000 in the flathead and the whole mess sold for half that. | | | | | Joined: Dec 2003 Posts: 975 Shop Shark | | Shop Shark Joined: Dec 2003 Posts: 975 | If you need to next year, you can put almost anything in it to make it run...hard to say that for the body.....go for the body first.... | | |
