Truck related? Yes. The television show American Dreams features the 1960's lives of two families whose male heads work in a TV store. The store has an Advance Design Chevrolet Truck - my bet is that it is a true Stovebolt (having an in-line 6-cylinder engine). The daughter in one family is a regular dancer in American Bandstand.

By the way, back to the original question: "How many remember "The American Band Stand?" I remember it and give it a 10 'cause I liked the variety of rhythmic beats but my girfriend only gave 10s to the songs that were easy to dance to.

As I was out loading dad's 57 with corn so we could get it grounded into cattle feed, I would run into the house and watch on our old black and white. American Bandstand!! Loved that show, If it was a slow song I give it a 10, fast song a 7 something about wiggling your butt was against the law. grin

Hey Popcorn,

I agree about the slow songs but even in conservative Virginia I found a way to appreciate wiggling butts during faster songs (not mine - the fairer one that were often wiggling in glee and with abandon).

Yeah them were the good old days.Lets see 1957,just discharged from Uncle Sams Army, got a good paying job, bought a new 57 Phord convertible,312 cu in,245 HP.oh yeah standard shift,it was a very fast car in its day.It beat everything in the county, except a 57 Olds J2 stick, and a 57 Chevy, with 2 4s.Didnt have much time to watch ole [censored] Clark on TV,but I sure liked the music of that era.

Except for music from guys like Jerry Lee Lewis or other early Rockabilly and Blues artists, I don't care for oldies,it's just mayonnaise head music.
In fact I'm glad those days are gone, goodbye to cars with poor handling, bias tires, whitewalls, sail on brakes, pointy bras, hairspray, and Bobby Vinton.
I like modern stuff, except for old trucks and swing dancing. grin

Pop,I'm 57,I remember all that stuff, but I try to forget it. grin Growing up near NYC,the airwaves were all Do-Wop, but I had my radio tuned into Jocko's Rocketship rythum and blues show.
My wife like swing music,it's pretty good.We dance the Shag,a early swing type dance to AC-DC wink
[censored] Clark is more than pop stars lip syncing on Bandstand,he's very knowledgable and a fan of old blues and early rock and roll, and even modern rock.
