I am finally painting my truck and I am buying new door handles. LMC sells the handles with a non locking handle and a locking handle. Since i need both to lock that wouldnt do me much good. Does anyone know of anyone that sells door handles that have both locks or an idea on how to make interior door lock knobs? No inner lock knobs are needed,

Still have to use the key, but you can lock both doors from outside w/o pushing inner handle. They say one is ready for a locking cylinder. the other has a non locking cylinder already installed. Anyway to remove the non locking cylinder from that and put in a locking one? Is it hard? Havent taken one apart yet but i will be receiving a door handle set and 2 locking cylinders keyed alike and i need a way to take the non locking cylinder out. | | | | | Joined: Feb 2004 Posts: 110 Wrench Fetcher | | Wrench Fetcher Joined: Feb 2004 Posts: 110 | To remove your non-locking button or locking button, push in the round, flat piece from the back of the handle and use a small screwdriver to flip out the snap-ring. The flat washer and a spring will come out and then the button, locking or non-locking. If it hasn't deterierated there should be an "O" ring around the button. This is just a cushion tor the button. The new set should have new "O" Rings. By the way, you will need to have the handles removed from the door for this operation. There will be two screws holding on the handle from the inside of the door. (or they may be two small bolts - 7/16 head) Quite simple when you take one apart.
