My 1.5 ton does NOT have a Polarity Reverse Switch (PRS)on the starter. It is a 6 volt. But when I turn it over, it grinds VERY slowly, even with a new battery on full charge. I have 3 ground straps, 1- Cab to frame, 2- Starter to frame, and 3- Neg battery to frame.
MY QUESTION IS: Will adding the PRS make it turn over faster??

If you are not using good heavy duty 6 volt cables, and those on there are 12 volts---change them all.
If the starter is in good shape it'll turn like a turbine with the right size cable on there.

I purchased the cables NEW from Jim Carters for the 6 volt.
