I have seen many pictures of streetrods that no longer have these but as far as I can tell these are all the adjustment for the fenders and hood line-up. I really would like to keep them, but I am mounting a hydraboost on my firewall and an 80's 4-speed transmission pedal assembly to the other side of the firewall. So the driver's side rod is gonna be in the way. I was just wondering if anyone has ever run across this problem. This is a 49 deluxe mounted on an 83 cab and chassis one-ton with 4-speed 350. But seriously... Good question. I was wondering the same thing. I am already missing one and the fender sags on that side. I would like to eliminate them for a clean underhood look too.

1 inch angle along firewall between fenders. Hinge to same along fender. Short turnbuckles between firewall and fender pieces. Basically a stiffer version of the original, allowing a shorter, wider-spaced brace.
