big swap meet comming up next week in charlotte at the speed way. i am looking for a stearing colum for my 66 c-10 with or with out auto shifter. not sure if i want to put a lokar in the floor yet for my auto. whats a good colum to look for. i am in process of changing over to power stearing with CPP kit feel better doing it all at one time with boregson shaft and joints insted of using the piece they supply to weld the shaft back together. would like for it to be a tilt for sure

Hay I am new to the board so i will ask why should this go in the "Events Section"? I am not advertizing an Event I am asking a question about a stearing Colum.

shoundog a chevy van will work for you, it kept the ingnition swith off the column till mid 80's if I remember right, although they are getting rare and you are adding auto and tilt also and they are bringing premium price

I recently did the power steering upgrade on my '66, C-10 utilizing the CPP setup. I didn't use the adapter kit, instead I cut out the necessary length of the stock steering shaft, beveled both ends clamped it in an aluminum "V" block, to ensure proper alignment and rewelded the two pieces back together. I then sanded, primed and painted the shaft, as well as the adjacent frame rail, brackets etc. By doing so, the entire upgrade looks factory original. The sleeve provided with the kit, when installed, looks aftermarket.

I took the auto steering column out of my '66, K-10 that came from a '66 Impala installed by the previous owner. I am replacing it with a factory orginal automatic steering column and shift assembly from a '66, C-10. I wanted to get it as close to orginal as possible and the Impala column, shift indicator and steering wheel look out of place in the K-10.

I have a lokar on a th350 in my 54 and love it. Armstrong steering is how I get my exercize. I have a s10 manual steering column but am not sure the year. I plan on putting it in someday. I'm having too much fun driving her now to stop and change anything. That's what winter is for.
