I teach auto mechanics at McGavock High School, near Opryland. I've got a 100-acre farm close to Ardmore, TN., about 8 miles from the Alabama state line off I-65, so I spend weekdays in Nashville, and weekends on the farm. Drop by the shop sometime!

| | | | | Joined: May 2001 Posts: 477 Shop Shark | | Shop Shark Joined: May 2001 Posts: 477 | howdy guys! now i'm finally at home. went to dale hollow near celina tenn. and had a blast! tried real hard to sink a friends boat for him, didn't catch any fish, but fed a bunch of them one piece of bait at a time (darn turtles). saw a gazillion (which means more than 2) stovebolts in different states of abandonment or in some cases running like a bat out of hell down the road. them southern ky and northern tenn folks got 2 speeds, lookin' for yard sales and warp factor 9. got my pics back so i'll be trying to post them. even found a lost couple of pics of my custom 72 4wd truck. too bad they are no longer legal the way i built it.
look forward to me taking you guys up on the home visits in the spring. i'm gonna go back!!!

Last year, one of my students found out a 4WD Chevy pickup WILL climb a flight of stairs, but it will also break the transfer case off the back of the transmission when it high-centers on the top step! That was an expensive lesson!

Hey, why don't we try to organize some kind of 'bolter's get together in that area in the spring? I know there are several of us in KY and TN. Wouldn't even be that far for western VA and western NC folks. There must be someone in that general vicinity with space for a bunch of 'bolters to park and camp. We could talk 'bolts, go fishin', eat BBQ, maybe take a run up to Bowling Green to the Corvette museum, etc. What do you think?

Great place for a bolters' rendevous, with Chattanooga, Nashville, and Huntsville, Alabama, all in reasonable driving distance! How about a springtime get-together? Too close to deer season to think about one before then!

Chattanooga is another 140 miles further south. On the other hand, guys to the south might want to come up if we went that direction. We got time, let's keep throwing out ideas.
