Again, thanks! | | | | Joined: Dec 2003 Posts: 299 Wrench Fetcher | | Wrench Fetcher Joined: Dec 2003 Posts: 299 | I finally got my 53 AD registration/title into my name yesterday.This beast had not been registered for 35 years.I had to go to the autoplan dealer near me to have a title search done($7.00).Then I had to send a registered letter to that person with the address they gae me.It came back "NSA"(no such address)($10.00).Then I took my Bill Of Sale and all the other stuff including the letter to a notary public. He and I filled out a declaration form(given to me by the Autoplan people),stating that I did every thing in my power to contact the last registered owner($20.00).I then took my growing pile of paperwork back to the Autoplan people and for a final $24.00 my AD was registered in my name.That amounted to $60.00 + $50.00 for the purchase of my truck.It only took me 9 years to get around to this point,sigh.  | | | | | Joined: Dec 2003 Posts: 1,554 Shop Shark | | Shop Shark Joined: Dec 2003 Posts: 1,554 | Wouldnt it be nice if we could avoid the darn paperwork?? | | |
