i am replacing all the door rubber. is there a rubber piece that goes along the bottom of the door and what is it called. i ordered what i thought was a complete kit but there was nothing for the bottom of the door. i think that i have to order a set of rubbber for along the cab ledge where it meets the carpet. if someone could post a picture i would appreciate it. i am a little confused by the pictures in the catalog and what they call them. ron

I just ordered a set for my 46 and I believe it's called lower cab windlace. It runs along the lower side of the cab and sticks very slightly above the floor of the cab. Bob T

thanks bobt, i did a little more research and found a picture that i could understand. what happened the body man cut the rubber and cut off what should have gone on the bottom. i think he can repair it, but if not i will order a new one, they aren't much. live and learn. not a big deal i still have to order the retainer strip and some other parts. ron

I'm a little confused Ron, the door rubber for the AD starts on the bottom about 14" from the front piller and runs all the way around in one continuous piece all the way around till it meets itself back on the bottom.
There is a single lower cab windlace rubber that is the length of the door opening retained by a strip at the outer edge of the floor.

denny, you are correct. but i am talking about the doors. the body man called back and he had cut the seal think it ended at the bottom edge of the door. he still has the pieces and will replace the. ron

OK i am confused !
anyone got a pic ..of the lower door on there truck an how the trim holds the bottem pc of weather strip ..i purchased new S.S trim but an not sure on were it goes ..

the problem area that i am aware of is the door's leading edge at the upper hinge area? :confused_smile:

I never saw that trim piece before! Where did you buy it and what part # is it?

I'll be doing my door rubber (again) when my truck comes back from paint and that trim piece looks like a great addition to the project. I wonder why I never noticed that when I bought my other kits!?

Denny's picture shows the installation as shown in the Factory Assembly Manual (are we surprised?).

Tim's got her takin' care of Alan. When you lay it up there you would swear that it taint gonna fit. It has to compress the seal quite a bit. I got mine from Chevy Duty, SS. Now if they had only used one on the front between the hinges we'd have it made.

on a sightly different thought here
... my body shop guy rebuilt the door bottom and I have no reference (holes) to locate the metal edge piece

The holes are 1” up measured from the outside of the bottom edge of the outer skin. Just even up the end holes. It looks like more in the picture but it’s not.
