i have a 47 panel want to paint inside cab black but dont know if that will be orig. the sterring colum is brown or tan and parts of the inside is both colors. i know i can paint it any color but want to go back like it came off the show room can any one help thanks

interiors are light and dark, and for 47 something like dark brown and tan/ivory may be right, I'm sure there will be some here who'll know, but no truck I've heard of had an all black interior

Interior color was a "champagne" color, for lack of a better name. I personally like Chevy Duty's interior paint, it is enamel and a close match. Except Chevy Duty has changed their name, cannot recall what it is right now. The column was brown.

The column and steering wheel were one color, the rest is another color.

I took my steering column to a paint store and they matched the color for me and sold me a pint of it for $15 bucks. The color was dead on. I used 'bulldog' on the wheel before painting it. Bulldog is a paint adhesion promoter for use on flexible parts, like plastic bumpers and vinyl tops, etc...

When you paint the interior don't forget the seat frame/base. and speaker/glove box grill center pieces.

Brothers truck parts in Corona Ca. sells the Champagne semi gloss laquer by the pint or quart.

does anybody have the paint code # for a panel interior.it seemed it was more a grey color(at least for my 53). i belive i've read it was a grey interior color for the all 47-55 panel trucks. i have a 47 parts panel and the seat back is the same color (greyish) as the one in my 53.i removed what was left of the head liner and brackets the other day and it was the grey color also. this just adds to my confusion or confirms it :confused:
