I think that they are on the wrong side of the door - should be on the latch side for a bottle opener.
I am pretty sure that they are stock. Maybe GM had problems with glue in cold weather, so Canadian trucks had some gadgets to help keep the weatherstrip in place?
Once the doors are on, I won't see them.

There is a clip that slips thru the slot and has one wide end that pushes up against the weatherstrip to keep it in place. I have them in a bag somewhere. I'll try to find them and post a pic. There was not one clutch head screw anywhere on mine either. Everything was phillips head in Canada. Do you have any clutch head screws on yours?

The only clutch head screws I have found on the truck are on the vacuum motor for the wipers. As you say, everything else is Phillips. I replaced that wiper motor with an electric one, so it is now "clutch head screw free".
