Looking for a site or anyone who has knowledge on how to identify the differences on '41 - 46' chevy 1/2 tn. Went to the link identified in the FAQ site but it was invalid. Thanks - lax6

Try this page. It's just an overview, but it might help.

From what I learned there seems to be a 41 and a 46 that are different from each other. The very few in between built during the war were basically 41's with trim differences due to metal shortages. I think different plants did different things.

It is kind of amazing to see so many Art Decos around. Though they were built for 6 years, 4 of those years had extremely low numbers. Compare that to the reign the AD had where it was the biggest truck seller of any brand during it's 47 through 55 model years with production numbers that were astronomical for it's time.

don't forget the early 47's...

i think the pre-war models had chrome grills and post war had painted. at least that's how it is on the GMC's.

also, there's a book American Light Duty trucks from Krause PUblications. it tells some details. I have one if anyone has a question.

"So many trucks, so little time!"

Vehicle list:
down to 2 now.
1 - 1967 Chevy 3/4 ton LWB 4x4
