| | | | Joined: Jun 2001 Posts: 85 Wrench Fetcher | | Wrench Fetcher Joined: Jun 2001 Posts: 85 | I have an electric seat from a '69 **** Thunderbird in my '68 Chevy C/10 stepside. Long story. The seat adjust mechanism hasn't worked for a while. The switch is fried. A new switch and pigtail from a later model has the same switch configuration [DPDT rocker/4-way joy toggle/ DPDT rocker.] The scarey thing is the wires on the '69 are color coded the opposite from what I assume is off a '73 (or '83?). Red wires and yellow wires on the pigtail are reversed. Where would I go for **** schematics of this vintage?

Dropped in a later model switch into the earlier switch cradle and shot the worm gear machanisms out w/ liquid wrench teflon lube. I think one of the 3 motors is going bad. It sticks and overheats. Luckily it 's the back tilt function. Fore and aft and front lift are coming back on line.
The library seems a good starting place.
