hello out there. just replaced the gas tank in my 49, looks much better. One question there is a piece of about 3 inches high that goes from one side of the cab to the other, I guess it was to hold the bottom of the gas tank or something. Do I leave this piece of metal there or can I take it out..thanks

I'm leaving that piece in mine. I plan on framing that whole area out, putting a lid on it to store hand tools, etc.

thanks alan I thought about doing something like that or maybe some speakers and woofers. Does it matter as far as being able to move the seat back? I have a 60/40 split seat, so I can adjust the back...thanks

I haven't considered it in terms of seat travel yet ... I WILL be doing tat this Summer when I put new seats in though. But I don't think it'll be an issue.

Next weekend I will be trying to install my seats. Am trying to design a base for them. I got a 60/40 split seat that look pretty good specially for the price. Alan do you know the height from the floor to the seat? thanks

the height that is the best is what is comfortable for you. i would block it up with 2x4s and spacers til it felt comfortable. i would do this ove a couple of days til i was sure. my 2 cents. ron
