I'm not typically a country music fan, but she is a notable exception. She had some great songs. RIP.

She once pulled a 38 special on some creeps in New York City. Told him she'd convert him from rooster to a hen.

Was that for real, or was it a line from one of the movies she was in? I'm wondering if it was the latter.

My aunt (Del Wood) had a small part in Dolly's movie "Rhinestone"- - - - -she was the piano player in the country band. Of course, her country music career started out long before Dolly's- - - - -her recording of "Down Yonder" was the largest selling instrumental solo for many years in the early 1950s.

The pulling a 38 was in a movie, but Dolly said that it actually happened.

My 85 year old father said he remembers that being a true story also.

Dolly delivered that line in 9 to 5 when she was going off on her boss (played by Dabney Coleman). But she said the gun was in her purse at her desk, but she'd gladly go get it and do the "rooster to hen" thing.
