Any ideas of a product produced to cover the bumper, something I can take off when I get there and put on when done?

I've never used it myself, so no idea how accurate the claims in the web info are. Just something I found in a quick web search.* Here's the Installation/Removal Instructions PDF. Reading the instructions, it's not likely reusable, so once removed, you would have to reapply new. May take longer than you want to spend when finished with a show and want to head home. * There are likely other candidates, you just need to spend a little more search time to pin down something that will work for you.

The front has a few chips now, but not all that bad. It still looks good from few feet out. Go to your local window tint shop and ask about paint protection film. They can cover the bumper so well you will not be able to tell. The self repair clear cover will heal itself if a rock hits it. Lots of high end cars are covered front to back. Its not cheap, I was quoted $200 for one 1937 front bumper. Being cheap, I declined and decided the chips didn't bother me quite so bad anymore. Amazon sells it if you want to try it yourself. | | |
