I’m wanting to replace my front wheel ball bearings on my 1941 pickup, model AK with modern taper bearings, but having trouble with finding seals that fit. I have used two different conversion kits from two different vendors and both sets seals don’t work. On the first set, the seal lip when pressed in jammed against the bearing, locking it from turning. On the second set, the vendor stated that their seals are specifically made to fit, yeah right. There’s not enough of a wall surface to hold the seal in place and the seal lip stands proud of the back of the bearing, pinching it between the grease baffle. Has anyone been able to use these conversion kits and where did you purchase them? Or am I going to have to stick with the ball bearings? Any help would be appreciated. Ken
Nothing wrong with ball bearings. I've been driving my '56 Cadillac for over 100,000 miles with ball bearings.

Ken, I had issues converting to roller bearings on my '46. I could not get the seal from Chev's of the 40s to install correctly. I know many others were able to do this. I ended up getting a seal from The Filling Station and it worked for me.

Many suppliers offer the CPP kit, It sits on a shelf cut into the inner bearing race and fit perfectly into the hub on my 46 huck brakes and also fit the 54 bendix brake hubs when I converted my 46 (truck came to me with huck front & bendix on rears, I don’t recommend mixing huck and bendix)
