I have been doing full editor and when I go to attachment manager and select a picture to post it goes back to the starting page for the website.

Doing a test here to see if I have the same elproblemo......No problem for me.

Did you re-size the picture - down? Not sure what the size limit is though. Craig's pic above is only 56.12KB. Most of my pics start at 2MB+ and down to 150KB after I re-size them.

One thing I've experienced when trying to open the Attachment Manager window, is if the whole main page hasn't finished loading, when I try and click on the button, the page just finishes loading and sits there as if I never clicked the Attachment Manager button. Once I make sure the page I'm on is finished loading, then I click the Attachment Manager button and it begins to open.

Then I've also found that often the Attachment Manager window takes a little extra time to fully open and be ready to upload files to it compared to how it used to work. For me the Attachment Manager box frequently first display as a solid black rectangle, but after waiting 3-5 seconds or so, it eventually displays correctly so I can follow the process. I also find that it takes several seconds for a file to finish uploading to display in the Attachment Manager files list before trying add another file or to click the "Done" button.

I've not experienced going back to the starting page for the website. Do you remain signed in when you get kicked back to the main forum page or do you get logged out and have to sign back in?

John, or anybody. Can you show him the tip on how to resize.

This is how I do it. I use the free Windows Accessories application Paint. Others might have a different method.

Go into Windows Accessories > Paint > File > Open
Locate your picture and Open it
Toward the top left corner there is a Resize button - click on it.
I change the Horizontal aspect ration to 25 and the Vertical will change with it, if you have the "Maintain aspect ratio" selected.
Click OK
Then I "Save As" and change the name the file name a little, so that you can save your original picture size. I usually add a letter "a" or "1" to the file name. If you don't care about the original, just "Save" the file.

I just change a test picture and it went from 1.70MB to 200KB which allows me to post 5-6 pictures.
You don't have to use 25, sometimes I use 20 for the aspect ratio. I'm not sure what size picture you are starting with, so find what fits your needs.

Here's some more info on using Paint to resize. My version is a little different than John's.

The red arrow shows the Resize button. It brings up the window in the center. I use percentage (circled) and select 90% (my oversize pics are usually just a touch over 5 MB) in the Horizontal box (yellow arrow.) The button at the green arrow locks the aspect ratio (it's shown toggled on to keep both horizontal and vertical percentages the same, clicking on it would turn it off and allow you to squoosh the picture - probably not desired.) Once you have it set the way you think will work, hit the OK button. You can check the size of the picture by right clicking on it in the file listing and selecting properties in the box that pops up.

I also noticed that when I'm looking at pictures in my folder (not a thumb nail), I can right click on the picture and half way down there is a Resize option. You then slide the button to the left to resize the picture smaller. Maybe you don't need to open another application? But I think it saves over your original picture or I didn't see an option to rename it?

I experienced something similar this morning in trying to ad picture to this reply post in Driveline.

I went to add the picture through the normal process of dragging the file from my PC download directory into the AM box. It acted like it was working but then the file in the AM files list disappeared immediately and showed no files loaded???

In looking closer at the post, it showed it was in UBB Mode only. When I clicked to change that to both HTML and UBB, the functions worked correctly.

On another note - I just tried to click to "Use Full Editor" to look at the settings in this reply. Instead of opening the "Full Editor Mode", it switch the entire page back to the Main Forum Page.

Much new weirdness going on!!!

Note on above reply - I could not capture screenshots of what was being displayed on my laptop to show these happenings unfortunately. When I tried using the keys "fn" and "prt sc", the page would revert back to what I had last done with the in-progress post steps.

I'm going to run scans/maint and restart my laptop before trying to get logged back in and see if this continues. More later when I can.

I use Windows Photos for most of what I do with pictures, and when one opens a photo, across the top bar there are several options for actions. Just to the left of center are three dots...click on those dots and one of the additional options that are presented is "Resize Image". It is pretty self-explanatory from that point.

I like this method of resizing photos because I don't have to open any other programs.

Just a note that I signed back in on my phone and nit currently experiencing any of the issue I had with laptop this morning.

I’ll get back on laptop later tonight to see if things are still weird or back to normal on that device. More later.

Quick update to my morning post today about weird things going on.

Seems as of this evening, things are back to normal function with posting functions, including uploading a picture through the Attachment Manager, even though the post was shown as in "UBBCode only" mode.

Not sure if it was an issue with my laptop or ???, but things seem to be functioning again.

Thanks for the help everyone, I’m still having trouble post my pictures. I just tried again and when I select a photo it instantly goes back to showing main forum page, same size as the attachment manager. I’ll keep trying.

It's a possibility that you have some old cookies in your browsers history/memory cache that are causing the continued problem.

Suggest you clear your browser history to remove all old files and cookies that may be contributing to the continued problem. Also, you can clear your "Stovebolt" cookies, using the drop down menu that displays when you click on your member display name at the top right of the page.

In fact, it might be best if you clear the "Stovebolt" cookies while signed in, then sign out and do the browser history clearing.

I frequently clear my web browsers cache and also use the "Disc Cleanup" process on my laptop (Windows 11) to clear out temporary and history files to keep things runnign using the latest links and cookies.

Once you've done all that, sign back in and give it another go.

I am also having a very hard time posting a new thread with a photo. I have tried about 6 times, I use attachment manager, file size is only 1MB, cleared cookies, history. Cloudfare timed out once on me but I am stumped about what to do. It shows that it uploads the photo but the new thread is not there (in Other Online Sources forum). Any ideas?

Oh, it finally did show up!

Sometimes I have to pause a little bit to let the pages completely load. Then I'm able to select pictures and pause again before clicking Post Reply.
