I've looked in several parts catalogs for a rubber floor mat for a 1950 truck with a 4 speed with no luck. While I'm sure the one I bought can be made to work it does not have the rectangular raised section that is around the floor shift lever. Anybody know a source for one?

Yes this mat is not designed with a floor shift boot as being part of it. Odds are you would still need to get a seperate floorshift boot such as their 40-611. This is how my truck is done.

I tried putting the mat over the boot. Neither way is perfect. A boot with a square base would be ideal, but I couldn't find one. It's a minor issue, IMO.
Cut outs are one thing but I am asking about the formed part that accommodates the raised rectangular section around the shift lever - not the boot. The photo online for the classic parts floor mat is poor enough that I can't see anything like what the ragged floor mat that is in my truck now. I suspect that the mat I have is original. I want a mat that was made for the 4 speed transmission and hope that someone here knows where one might be available. Cutting the rectangular hole and keeping that portion of the original mat is an option but I'm hoping there is a correct type available.

The material John mentions is called "jute carpet underlayment". Easily found available from lots of online sellers (and I'm sure you could find it locally) in various sizes from cut pieces to large rolls. Cut to fit. It also adds an increase in insulating and sound deadening to your cab.
