Took truck to town for breakfast. We were inside eating and there was a guy out side taking pictures of my truck When we left this part was laying on my passenger side running board. I think the guy picked it up and layed it there. It may have been in parking lot before I arrived. Looked my truck over and see nothing missing. There are no marks like there was a bolt through it with nut tightening down. Any ideas? Thanks Bill 37 half ton

Looks a little like the plates that go under the bed cross-sills where the bolts holding it to the frame go. But it likely didn't come off your truck. Could be about anything.

I think Sparky may have it pegged. Bill, check your bed to frame cross mounts on top of the wood blocks. It could be during assembly that the plate shifted and didn't get captured by the bed mounting bolt and vibrated the rest of the way out.

Mine aren't going to do that. I tack welded those suckers in there.

Update: this forum is awesome! .update on my part ID. You expert's were right. After climbing under try this morning the bracket on the passenger side forward is missing. I have no idea how it could come out as bracket is bent over stile and cannot come out to the outside as bed support is tight against frame Well Ithe good part is that I know what it is and where it's missing Looks time might be a big deal.putting it back in. Thanks so for your wisdom. Bill .
That part was left somewhere on the frame or something with the intention of installing it. It was forgotten and never installed. Luckily it fell off its perch in a place where somebody found it.

I think it just great that someone was considerate enough to pick it up and put it where you could find it. That and folks here sharing knowledge to help each other out.
Doesn’t get much better than this IMHO!
