| | | Joined: Dec 2013 Posts: 47 'Bolter | | 'Bolter Joined: Dec 2013 Posts: 47 | Howdy. 1959 1/2 ton. Just installed my SBC and am using stock type front and rear mounting hardware. I cannot find in the manual any torque specs for the stock front mounts. Obviously as I tighten the nuts, top and bottom, it will compress the rubber biscuits (an old Jake and Elwood Blues Brothers song....Ha). Any ideas? Maybe just use Nylock nuts and snug em real good??

Definitely not a bad idea to recheck and tighten after driving as Guitplayer suggests above.

| | | | | Joined: Mar 2004 Posts: 6,214 'Bolter | | 'Bolter Joined: Mar 2004 Posts: 6,214 | Your front engine mounts should assemble in this order on each end of the stud: Stud Large Flat Washed Large Rubber Cushion Cupped Washer Mount Bracket Small Rubber Cushion Small Flat Washer Lock Washer Nut The nut should be tightened until the Small Flat Washer is tight against the stud shoulder and torqued to 30 ft lb (normal 3/8" bolt/nut torque spec).
