Title says it all. I've got a 1965 Chevy C60 school bus. The Carpenter coach portion of it, is remarkably rust free, however the Chevy front clip is not. Basically, the school bus begins where the Chevy part ends-so it's got the cowl and cowl vent behind the hood, and that's it. The vertical portion of the factory firewall, the angled portion, then a few inches of the flat floor of a C60, but it ends before where the doors would be. Where the flat school bus floor begins. Any rust there is super easy to fix, it's just literally flat sheet metal that I could cut out and weld in.

It's got what look like the standard front most cab mounts, and it looks like I could buy repops of the sheet metal upper portions of those. However there's also some rot in what would be the inside the fenders portion of a C20. If I had the C60 FAM I could really be a lot more precise in looking for what I might need in terms of body metal, so I can then spend my money in the right place, in the first place.

As usual, thank you in advance to the 'Bolt forum!

Tronman - Not sure what exactly your asking for here? Are you looking for diagrams/pictures from a FAM of the front clip parts, to purchase a FAM or ??? headscratch

I'm asking for diagrams if anyone has them, or links to same. If I were asking to purchase a whole FAM, I think I would have to put that in Truck Parts Wanted.. which isn't a bad idea. However, apologies for not clarifying better, I'd be happy with just the appropriate diagrams.

Tronman - Thanks for clearing that up. I've got a partial '60-'66 FAM (someone gave me an electronic copy of what was thought to be the full FAM but sadly it's only a partial with lots of duplicate pages and not in any sensible order), and it took me a while to scan through that to see if I could find anything related to your specified area of the bus. The only diagram from my "FAM" related to your question is the diagram for the forward front of cab floor mount in pic 1. It indicates the "No. 1" mount in lower left applies to the S60 SBC (School Bus Chassis) model. Other than that, none of the front fenders or related bits and pieces are covered in my "FAM".

I have a 1966 Chevrolet Specialty Parts Catalog that shows an overview of the '64-'66 60 Series truck which I've attached for reference as pic 2. From that point, I did some web wandering and came across the picture of a 1965 S60 SBC (pic 3) in this 1965 Chevy Bus Chassis advertisement. I also snagged some still pictures (4 - 6) from a YouTube video to possibly provide some perspective/reference.

A little further digging led me to this page of a 1966 Chevy Medium/Heavy Duty Master Parts Book. Parts Group 8.130 is for the Front fender and related parts located on nearby pages. Unfortunately this reference only lists part info, no diagrams or pictures. frown

A couple of observations from all this info. The Master Parts Book lists a couple of different front fenders for the 60 Series trucks, depending on the front axle equipment so hunting for other fenders or related parts may need some reference materials handy when comparing to be sure you've found what you need. My second thought is from the pictures and diagrams I've found, most 60 Series front clips and related parts should work for your Bus as they appear to be basically the same whether from a regular C60 or S60 Bus.

Unfortunately none of the 60 Series fenders and related parts are being repopped, so you'll likely need to find a donor vehicle or fabricate rust repair materials to fix whatever you have that needs replacement.

Sory for being so long winded. Just trying to offer what I can to respond to your need. wink

That's quite alright-what's provided is very helpful, thank you! The crufty bus pictured is like mine-two ton Chevy bolt pattern wheels, and flared fenders that aren't the huge 11,000lb front axle wide flares. That bus has what I need. Well, if it weren't a lot more rusty than my bus :-(

What's interesting is that inside the fender wells of my bus are literally the vestigial remains of the factory fenders for a C-20 or 30. There are the factory rubber seals around them and everything. They just straight up widened the wheel houses by cutting the regular fenders, installing bigger flared fenders to cover 20" wheels, and sent it. I actually ordered those seals from Jim Carter-they were super cheap, if they don't fit I will pass them along appropriately here. So I was thinking that some of the undercarriage C10-30 repop stuff would be usable at least as a place to start.

Yes I'm acutely aware of not destroyed fenders for my rig being less common than hen's teeth :-(

Looking at the assembly diagram, my bus has the #1 body bracket and then stops being GM right behind that, where Carpenter coach takes over.
