Been searching the Forums and sites for a couple weeks, pick this up two weeks ago and I am looking forward to getting it on the road. This is the oldest vehicle I have ever owned. Prior to this was 50 Ford and 55 Chevy truck.
Really wanting to convert it to disks up front. Does anyone know if anything is available? Seems the '36 is left out on a lot of sites…

Welcome to Stovebolt, Seaflea (does this mean you are near the water?) You may want to check out our virtual garage layout (what goes where; and who does what). You may spend a lot of time in THE SHOPS area.

It's great to see another older old truck. There is a spot especially for Early Stovebolts.

Again, welcome and Bolt on!

Thanks for the welcome. It is stock minus the seats. Someone added high back buckets and red shag carpet to it. lol
But yeah, everything seems original. Even the motor.

If you rebuild your original brakes, they will perform perfectly well for all types of driving that you're likely to do in that truck.

Drum brakes are not inferior to discs, contrary to popular belief. The primary benefit of discs is their resistance to overheating during repeated high speed brake application. Unless you plan on running a gymkhana every weekend or riding them down Pike's Peak, you'll find that the properly rebuilt and adjusted Huck brakes work very well.

Tractor trailers and dump trucks all use drums, not discs.

Welcome to Stovebolt Seaflea! Your truck looks to have some good "bones" and looking forward to seeing and hearing more about it. thumbs_up

On asking technical questions, give this thread Welcome - and now where do you go?? a good once over as it will help you post your questions in the best forum for the topic and get lots of help and direction based on what you wish to do.

PS - It's "your truck" so don't feel bashful about deciding your project goals and asking for help getting there. It's what we are here for. wink
