I’m removing all the fasteners from my cab in preparation for sand blasting. I’m hoping someone can tell me what the two screws shown in the photos below are used for. One was on the strike side of the door jamb down low and the other on the hinge side. Any help identifying these will be appreciated.
My '37 has rubber bumpers the door closes on, they have washers and screws just like those you are pointing at. Jim carter Truck parts, part number DP808.
There is only one rubber bumper on each the left and right side of the “A” piller as Utah’s photos show. The other clutch head screws shown hold the rocker panel in place. That was as I found before Sparky before the body work began.
Here's a snapshot from a 1929-46 Chevy Master Parts Book showing the cab details for a 1941-46 cab. The blue circle shows/confirms the A-pillar door bumper as mentioned by UtahYork and 46Sparky. There is no screw shown in the diagram in that above the rocker panel position as shown in 6321's 2nd picture above.
Perhaps someone installed that with a rubber bumper to fix a door rattle from compressed or missing bumpers that are shown in the cab rear door opening recess?
