You have a shiny side and a rough looking side. In all respect I have always installed them with the rough side going to the cylinder head, but they seem to fit better with the shiny side going to the head and rough side going to the exhaust manifold which even looks better as far as lining up.. as both sides will perform the same once installed. The texture difference is a result of the manufacturing process
and is not an indicator of how the gasket should be installed, according to Remflex Exhaust Gaskets.

| | | | | Joined: Dec 2024 Posts: 114 'Bolter | | 'Bolter Joined: Dec 2024 Posts: 114 | I'm not familiar with Remflex gaskets, but if an exhaust gasket has a metal face; the metal face goes against the manifold. Most exhaust gasket instructions I've seen state this.

Outstanding for sealing. works for stock manifolds and really helpful with irregularities in the cheap tube 235 headers or the Clifford 235 headers. More expensive than the more familiar three piece set but way way better. Take a look at the link I posted above.

The cylinder heads are a set of 492's round port. And earlier I had mentioned they line up better with the shiny side going to the cylinder head. | | |
