Disassembled the driveshaft and pinion gear assembly and got a little ahead of myself. Following the devestechnet.com procedures, I forgot to mark the orientation of the pinion shaft retainer to the front pinion bearing. According to deves the retainer has a a special taper to it so the orientation matters. Does anyone know which way the taper faces, towards the front bearing or away from it? Appreciate any help.

Check here. The pins on the housing push the front pinion bearing forward.

Bigedpa I’ve read and plan on following those instructions on doing a gear change in mine to the 3:55 ratio. Are you doing the same gear change? Are you doing the work on the rear end while it’s still in the vehicle? Did you buy the rebuild kit or buying separate parts based on the list? Please keep us updated on any other challenges you come across.
