Does anyone have an original that they can show me a picture of? Or better yet dimensions? Diameter of the rod. Overall length. Dimensions bend to bend. I would like to fabricate my own.Not that I plan on using it, I don’t wanna spend the money Chevs of the 40s want. But would like to have something mocked up and put in place when at a show. Was there a unique way or location that these were stored? Is this an accurate depiction of what was actually used? If so, I would still like dimensions.
I have an original that's thrown under the seat (normal storage place.) But it would take me a bit to dig it out and take pics and dimensions for you. I'm hip deep in another project right now, so it might be a day or two.

Well! I too a while back wanted one of those hand cranks. But the price I lost interest. So I made one from ½ inch steel pipe and a bolt to fit the damper slot. It’s uglyyyy! But the damper where the bolts slots in was also shot. Doesn’t work well either. I’ll take a photo let you guys laugh a little and joke about it.
That sure looks like a Model A Ford crank to me. Most likely won't work on your AD.

Jump on that so I don't have to dig mine out and measure it. You'll put more into building one than the cost of postage from lumbersawyer.

Just a related question. Are the 2-ton cranks the same as a half ton? I would think they are the same. I have one for a 46 2-ton, but like Kevin, I would have to dig it out.

Thanks, 1955, the second one looks like it would be more correct, I’m not sure I could not find one based on the search words I used. Lumbersayer your offer is definitely an option I think I would consider.
Gents - Just a reminder to take further discussion on deals and such related details to PMs or other outside of the forum channels please and thanks.
Otherwise this thread and further business has to get moved to the Swap Meet.

Rick, does your truck have the bumper mounted crank support?

Rick - Your truck is impressive, as is the 1st Place Trophy! Would love to see more of the truck.

First off I want to thank lumbersawyer for offering me one, but timing was an issue. I Had 5/8” round and I was slow at work so here’s what I made. I made it shorter than normal since it’s just for show. (I had machined off the hub for it when I swapped out the dampner. I put heat shrink tube on the long part to protect the parts it slides through.
Nice work Rick! Looks like it was meant to be there.
