Don't be surprised if a 216 has little to no oil pressure at hot idle. Spray-oil engines can run with 15 PSI or less oil pressure at hot idle, and even less is not uncommon. 235 full pressure engines will have quite a bit more, but one with a lot of miles and some rod bearing wear will also be lower on pressure than most people are comfortable seeing. It will run briefly at 15+ psi at cold startup.

This 216 engine also had a disconnected low oil pressure switch and light. I have just rewired in the light. | | | | Joined: Oct 2021 Posts: 5,684 'Bolter | 'Bolter Joined: Oct 2021 Posts: 5,684 | Texas, do you have a shop manual for your truck?
Those are the pressures listed in the manual for a properly functioning engine so as long as my engine (and yours) operates withing those ranges, I don't worry about it.
People used to modern vehicles with 30-80 psi get nervous with such low pressures but it's perfectly normal for these engines.
