Working on 53 3100. Installing open rear end from Camaro. Same width and same spring perch dimensions as original. Looking at some lowering springs with offset pin to center the axle in wheel well. Does anyone have experience with these? Don't want to order and pay freight only to find out they will not work. Any help/advice is appreciated.

IHPWR - It might help if you could provide the source and part number info for the springs you are considering. That or at least the proposed springs specifications so they can be checked against original spring dimensions to see if we can help answer your question. Don't forget to include an estimated or desired ride height as that's important too. smile

the springs are sold by classic industries, part D440A. they provide 3 inch drop with offset pin to center wheel when using newer open driveline. The dimensions per web page are L:56",W:4",H:4".

After reading the description on the identified parts HERE it seems to indicate they are designed to specifically work for what you're indicating you want to do. Not having purchased these particular springs, I can't say if they're good, bad or indifferent. Hopefully a fellow Bolter or two has and can chime in and offer their thoughts/experiences.
