Hello Stovebolters,

I have a 47 GMC model fc102 with a 216 engine and modern Daytona carb, is all running great, would like to hook up the hand throttle, comes in handy if I have to start out on a slight hill, lots of those around sw wisconsin. Unfortunately the throttle linkage on this Daytona carb isn't setup to do that. Wondering if you folks could advise on ideas for modifying my throttle linkage to allow for that, maybe send me pic of your linkage to give me some ideas? Attached is a my linkage. By any chance did you talk to Tim at Daytona and ask if he has a bracket to connect a throttle and/or choke cable?

Here is what one looks like for a Carter YF. The one for a Rochester B is similar. If you can find one, you might be able to adapt it to your needs.

Your throttle rod will have a hole in it for the throttle cable. You probably have a cotter pin in it now. Once you find a suitable bracket to clamp the throttle cable to the carburetor body, run the wire down through the hole in the throttle rod and secure it with a fastener like the one below. You can get them at bicycle shops or at any auto parts store.

Leave about an eighth inch of play between the cable stop nut and the rod.

Thank you for responding, and for all the pictures, I'm sure i can dig thru my old box of carb parts and come up with a bracket to mount that hand throttle. Your pics help me to understand how to rig it up. If I get stuck I'll call Daytona and get their advice too. Appreciate your time!
