I seam to recall a thread discussing the variations of door seal cross section available from the various vendors and the best choice for fit but I can not seem to locate it now that I am to the point of ordering door seals.

There was a similar thread related to cab windlace seals and the concern that none of the current offering provided the correct profile that I also can not find (obviously I am not searching correctly).

Is there a good way to know what door seal and/or windlace to order or is it more of a hit and miss situation where you determine what you received doesn't work after you have it installed?

The Canadian models are a bit different and they have some clips on the front of the door ,Bills truck shop has a picture on there web site.

This more recent Door Weather Strip Tech Tip by Bolter Jon G should have the info and help you seek in your quest for proper door weatherstrip for your truck. The attached PDF has all the "goods". You just need to download it and save or print for easy use. The PDFs seem to not want to display in the web page view when clicking on them as they had been in the past.

I recall several recent conversations too, but when I tried to search the results didn't locate what I recall seeing??? I'll keep looking as there may be more "vendor" info available in the other posts.

Thanks for the Tech Tip,I didn't think to look there. My grandkids are past the silly putty stage so I will need to get some of my own.

Glad to be of help. Not sure myself on how easy it may be to find silly putty, so a quick web check shows I can go get some from one of my local Ace Hardware stores. As an alternative, maybe play doh would work too?

If I remember correctly it was Steele Rubber that had the correct density and profile for the main door seal. Hopefully others will confirm or correct this.
