Plus I don't have the money to convert it to 134a. When you add in all the components, it gets expensive. | | | | | Joined: Sep 2003 Posts: 2,384 Shop Shark | | Shop Shark Joined: Sep 2003 Posts: 2,384 | I just screw on the r134a adapters, charge, then remove the adapters,,brian | | | | | Joined: Jul 2006 Posts: 49 Member | | Member Joined: Jul 2006 Posts: 49 | car quest sales a r12 sustitute.you will have to vacumm out the system.

Hey, if anyone has a vacuum pump, I'm also interested. | | | | | Joined: May 2006 Posts: 8,351 'Bolter | | 'Bolter Joined: May 2006 Posts: 8,351 | R12 has been pretty much phased out. It's also very expensive when you do find it, and you have to be licensed with MACS to purchase it. From what I've seen, you can use the substitutes as a drop in. Besides, you most likely need to replace the O-rings and other seals anyway, so why not evacuate it and do the conversion? It'll be cheaper in the long run than trying to hunt down R12.
