Those who read "Vintage Truck" magazine are already aware of this, but for those who don't, the last Sunday in June (which happens to be this coming Sunday, June 29) is "Drive Your Old Truck Day". Good opportunity to take your old iron out for a spin!

I was just looking for an excuse to take it to church.

Seems like as good of a reason as any.

I use my truck for work so every day is (potentially) Drive Your Old Truck Day. Yesterday was The Galaxie's turn in the rotation but today Ol' Roy is getting his 80 mile round trip workout.

Rich - Thanks for this reminder! thumbs_up I added the link to the magazine's page on "DYOTD" to your post for those that may not be aware of that site. Hope that is okay? Pretty cool cool that they even include a "photo contest" to encourage folks to show off their rigs. pix

For those taking advantage of Sunday to go drive your trucks (or any day for that matter - LOL!), we would all appreciate some pictures if you would like to share. Especially for those of us that aren't able to get our trucks out on the road at the moment. Share them here or perhaps you can post them in the Who uses their truck as a truck thread.

I'm looking forward to seeing some trucks on the road pics, hopefully! I'm sure they will be enjoyed by one and all! thumbs_up

I guess this would normally be a driving report or who uses his truck as a truck or whatever but since apparently driving it on Sunday is a thing I thought I'd post here and get the ball rolling with pictures

Ran a few errands with Ol' Roy this morning. Good to see all of the gauges on the dash working properly and all the needles pointing in the right direction. I guess I should have had the flash turned on on the shoe phone. Oh well.

No "upgrades" required. 216, 3spd, 4.11:1 rear end. Huck brakes.

Actually, there is one upgrade on this truck - Carter YF carburetor.

Used my truck Wednesday, but since it is "drive your old truck day” I used it as an excuse. The wifey & I rolled up into San Geronimo Valley to visit/buy some produce at the Farm Stand…. The truck is always welcomed there

Sunday pics for DYOTD.

Not a daily driver; but maybe a weekly driver.

1955 1st Series 3100 built at L.A. Van Nuys assembly plant in September 1954. Original 235 truck engine and running gear (open driveline) with early September 1954 casting dates.

That's a serious back bumper. Do you ever tow anything?

Tows motorcycle trailers now and again, and occasional trailer-tow trips to the landfill. Flat-towed an MGB Roadster from Newport Rhode Island to San Diego in the mid-1980s, with a motorcycle in the bed (military cross-country move).

Have owned the truck since 1970. Original 6V electrical system with Delco-Remy starter, generator and voltage regulator.
