Can anyone tell me where to get a torque wrench calibrated? I have a Craftsman torque wrench that is several years old that probably needs to be checked. I live in Jackson, Tennessee.

Big B,Check with your local Sears store.They should have a service center that calibrates them.You might have to send it out.My local Mac Tool guy was able to get mine done years ago but it hasn't been checked lately.When I built aircraft engines(prop 4&6 cyls) all torque wrenches had to be FAA/PMA certified monthly.Hope this helps you some.

I agree, send it to the same manufacturer for recalibration. I send my Mac in once a year too. I send it with the tool distributor and get a loaner to use while waiting,

my craftsman torque wrench literally fell apart the very first time i used it... sears wanted $40.00 just to send it off since it was "over 30 days old"... i only gave about $70 bucks for it in the first place when i bought it... i told sears to forget it!!!... i was livid to say the least...

i searched the web and found Angle Repair in Harper, WVA... i sent them my wrench and had it back in less than a week... repaired; calibrated; and checked out thoroughly... done deal for $25.00 return shipping included... the nicest folks i have ever dealt with and the boss's wife answers the phone!!!

i will be stone cold dead and in my grave before i ever buy anything from sears again...for any price... for any reason...

that wrench was brand new and had NEVER been used but it had laid in my tool box for awhile until i needed it... it was on the third of six flywheel bolts when it expired... i had no real problem with that part but it was the lousy service that ticked me off... sears has LOST me as a customer FOREVER !!!

Sorry to hear about your experience with that wrench, hillcitybill. At my store when someone has a problem like that they usually just replace the tool, no questions asked.

same here Bill... for over 40 years that i have been using craftsman tools and i still have many of them from my first set of tools that i bought back in high school... until it came to that torque wrench that is... sure enough it was written on the box label about the 30 day deal so i guess OJ would have loved that one... they had me dead to rights so there was nothing more i could say...

perhaps you will have better luck than i did... i hope so... if not then give Angle Repair a call since they are next door to you as they are to me... great folks to deal with...
