I installed new seals in my '64 C10 and I have to SLAM the door to get it to shut. Don't ask the brand I installed cause I don't know. Bought 5 years ago. It's like they are too thick. Any help would be helpful. Thanks

They were much better than whatever I had installed the first time. Still takes a firm hand closing the door though. Also, wiping the seals down from time to time with silicone lubricant seems to help too. Another top name I hear but haven't tried is Steele Rubber products. | | | | Joined: May 2007 Posts: 1,715 Moderator: 60-66 Trucks; North Eastern Bolters | Moderator: 60-66 Trucks; North Eastern Bolters Joined: May 2007 Posts: 1,715 | Do I search on stovevolt or maybe other site on Honda Civic hatchback door seals. I don't recall which year range, but many have used that seal with a more pleasing result. I am not in a current position to search and find but if you do the thread should be there. | | | | Joined: Sep 2009 Posts: 4,392 Gearhead, Stovebolt Tech and Parts Tracker, Mod for Swap Meet and GTT | Gearhead, Stovebolt Tech and Parts Tracker, Mod for Swap Meet and GTT Joined: Sep 2009 Posts: 4,392 | I think this might be one of the discussion at fellow truck site 67-72chevytrucks that Hambone is pointing towards. It talks about using the Honda door seals in place of the too big reproduction stuff. Lots of mostly on-topic reading that may offer some help for your predicament. Seems to cover both the 1966 and earlier, as well as 67-72 trucks.

I didn’t order them cause it seemed like some were removing them (for one reason or another) & going back to original style. I guess it’s a matter of doing your research, paying your money & take your chances | | | | Joined: Oct 2021 Posts: 5,684 'Bolter | 'Bolter Joined: Oct 2021 Posts: 5,684 | Do you have any profile pictures and dimensions of the Honda part? That would tell you everything you needed to know when compared to the style you have now.
