currently reduced to $34.73 for a six quart case (28% less than normal price): https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00DJ4FOFA?smid=ATVPDKIKX0DER&th=1

Just a heads up. Comes out to $5.73 each quart plus sales tax in your area. Hope somebody benefits.

Early 1960s. I was a high school senior in 1963, earning 90 cents an hour pumping gas, wiping windshields, and changing oil at a local full service station after school, trying to earn enough money for gas, insurance, and spare parts to keep my 1951 Chrysler business coupe on the road! I had bought the car with a trashed engine for $50.00, and found a salvage yard 49 Chrysler flathead six for $17.50.

Thanks for the reminder. I'll have to check around here a couple places. NAPA usually runs the oil specials here about every other month.
.......I remember those days to Jerry. Worked at a local Shell station after school early 60's. I was so poor I'd drain all the oil cans till I got enough to change my oil in my 56 hot rod.
....my dad ran a Spur station at one time and I'd hang our with him and we had the glass jars with the long metal "funnel" and he always had me to refill out of the 55 gal. drum. The highlight of his shift was watching the train come by and snatch the mail bag off the pole.

...... Shhhhh, don't tell anyone how old we are smile

Well, doggone it...the price has gone back up to $48 or whatever it normally is. Sorry. Opportunity is often a brief visitor. I'll let you know when it drops again.

Amazon has it back as a good deal, if your address allows delivery of such an item. Amazon cannot ship oil to my address nor any other local address near me. Oh well......

If you're smart enough to take it apart, you darn well better be smart enough to put it back together.
