I need to replace the shackles on my front leaf spring for my 1950 Chevy 3100. I ordered some new ones from an online retailer, but when they came in, the new shackles were 1" shorter than the ones on my truck. The new shackles are 4" and the ones on my truck are 5". Are the ones on my truck wrong or the new ones wrong? I want to keep the suspension stock, but I could see if someone put different shackles on it because that's what they had laying around. Does anyone know?

Four inch is original / correct.

Someone might have added the 5" to raise the front end up due to sagging springs. Don't be supprised when it sets lower.

I'm assuming he bought new springs. Maybe not.
