I bought a 1955 235 last weekend that the man had in a 56 Chevy. He pulled it in 77 and stored it in the garage since.
With the motor I received a dual carb intake and a dual exhaust manifold.
It appears the exhaust manifold is from a 55 Corvette. There were only seven six cylinders built out of 700 Vettes in 55.
Someone did a not so purdy, but effective repair at some point. I don't see why a good metal worker/welder couldn't get that looking nice again.

That casting number makes it a 55 Vette manifold?

Lots of those manifolds were sold by GM parts departments to stovebolt hotrodders who didn't like the Fenton split exhaust manifolds. That one has a working heat riser system, something the Fenton manifolds didn't have.

I kind of figured that's what it was. The only thing the casting number comes back to is a 54-55 Vette.
It'll work well on the dump 261.
