I bought a 1955 235 last weekend that the man had in a 56 Chevy. He pulled it in 77 and stored it in the garage since. With the motor I received a dual carb intake and a dual exhaust manifold. It appears the exhaust manifold is from a 55 Corvette. There were only seven six cylinders built out of 700 Vettes in 55. Someone did a not so purdy, but effective repair at some point. I don't see why a good metal worker/welder couldn't get that looking nice again.
Lots of those manifolds were sold by GM parts departments to stovebolt hotrodders who didn't like the Fenton split exhaust manifolds. That one has a working heat riser system, something the Fenton manifolds didn't have.

I kind of figured that's what it was. The only thing the casting number comes back to is a 54-55 Vette. It'll work well on the dump 261.
