Help!!

I apparently have a 1954 ish aftermarket oil filter assembly and cannot find a filter. The "pot" (as I call it) that the filter cannister goes into is 4" tall, 4" wide, and the center shaft is 1/2 " to 5/8". I tried local supply houses and they have ordered some in that they thought would fit, but no luck. Even Mr. Goodwrench was stymied! If anyone has an idea what model number and make oil filter I need, please let me know!!!

Thanks!!

One of these should fit:
Purolator P-51 or L20051
Fram C-30, C3, or C3P
Carquest 85021
NAPA 1006 (Fram canister)
NAPA 1100 (AC canisters)

Fram canisters have a crimped bottom
AC canisters have smooth bottom.

Just for closure, I called WIK and gave them the dimensions for the oil filter container attached to the manifold. I was right, it isn't anywhere the size of the original. I soke with someone the other day at Fram that said they used either an AC Declco (then just AC) filter case and cannister or a Fram case and cannister. Each one was a little different in size. I believe that mine is the Fram assembly.

For the record, WIK thins it will yake a 51107 filter cannister, so I've ordered one from NAPA. If it fits I'll order a dozen more.

Thanks for the help!!

Small world, just two hours ago I took the old Fram canister I got with a core motor from a '55 apart to start cleaning it up to install on the '61. It IS a Fram cannister with remnants of orange paint and the crimped bottom. The filter element inside of it(probably for the last 35 years)has clearly marked "AC P-115" then below that "MS 35346" and below that "Heavy Duty Junior Oil Filter" (heavy duty junior, seems like an oxymoron). Perhaps you could cross reference the AC P-115. BTW, it is 5" high, and about 4.25" in diameter. HTH
