I’m just curious if anyone from Texas is attending The Smokey Mountain AD Nationals in Townsend, TN in may.

If so, I’d love to link up with you!

I am NOT in Texas. But if (big if) I do go, I’d love to join a convoy at some point. Nashville area would be a good rendezvous point for many of us traveling from the west.

I’ve looked at my route options before. I’d love to find a non-interstate option from west to east acrosss TN. It could be done, but probably pretty impractical and would add a ton of time.

We decided last night that we will arrive the Sunday before so we can take our kids sight seeing around that area. If you have issues let me know as I might be able to help you if needed.

Look at US highway 64- - - - -it runs from Memphis to Chattanooga and points east from there, right along the Tennessee/Alabama state line. It's a divided 4 lane most of the way, with some very nice scenery and lots of possible side trips. I live about 5 miles south of 64, near I-65 and the Alabama line. US hwy. 70 eastbound from Nashville would be another non-interstate option.

And if you are close to HRL in TN, you are only about 30 minutes (going south still) from Stovebolt HQ. Drop on by. grin

The Jack Daniel's Distillery is a very short side trip from Fayetteville TN along the US 64 route- - - -tours of the facility are given several times a day.

The distillery also, depending on which tour you take, has a seminar on their product along with taste testing.

I'd rather walk and carry a Chevy hub cap than ride in a Ferd.
