My wife bought me a Vyper shop chair for Christmas that I was looking at online but couldn’t justify spending that much money. I have a cheap HF stool on casters that I went to sit on and it scooted away from me. I fell backwards hitting my tailbone on a concrete floor. Fortunately, I only got a bruised ego and a tailbone that hurt for several weeks. After that my wife decided I needed an upgrade and bought me a Viper chair for Christmas. Made in the USA, Vyper is the Cadillac of shop chairs and I’m looking forward to using it!

Nice! I'm on my second HF shop stool after the first one finally died. I had replaced the casters on it, rewelded the top and bottom of the post and the second time I welded on the top of the post, the adjustment mechanism gave up and wouldn't stay extended. It was bad trying to sit on it when it collapses. So the new one was purchased on a recent trip south and sports the casters off the old one which were way more sturdy than the ones supplied with it. So far, so good, but they are a little tippy if not careful.

Yeah, I got into the habit of grabbing the seat pad before I sat down. The Vyper has locking casters so I hope that helps.

I bought a couple of swiveling seat bar stools for the shop- - - - -but they're about 2 inches too tall. I need to take a sawzall to the legs. I backed up to one and tried to sit down- - - -and it tipped over and dumped me on the floor. I don't bounce as well as I did 30 years ago! Jerry

Big bucks here in the USA too, and shipping to Alaska would probably be a killer. I can buy 10 HF stools for the price of one of these.

I have been eying those chairs for awhile but as others have mentioned they are pricey. My neighbor threw out an old fiberglass office chair with a broken back and I rescued it for the casters and the piston. My HF chair had died like most and thought that I could rob the piston from this chair. In the end I just cut off the back and sanded it smooth. It works awesome, very comfy and rolls pretty good. The price was excellent but the color? Well no will steal it any time soon. The vyper chairs really do look cool and I hope they perform as good as they should for the price point.

Mine opted for the accessory package also. It does work well. Very high quality casters and great finish.

Hmmmm- - - - -I believe those cup holders might have an influence on "quality control" around my shop! I have an old Honda Gold Wing disc brake rotor mounted to an office chair base as one of my "sit down and work" devices. Jerry

Jerry its suppose to small parts holders. But also works well as a cup holder!!! Plus this chair is just about impossible to tip over.
