I just recently (12/19/2024) retired. I hope to put more miles on the 64. Have been chasing/concerned with a knocking sound from the driveline, i now believe it to be the torque converter. (turbo 350). Not hard or expensive to change. Owned since 1984. Painted 3 times (since i have owned it).
Added power steering, auto trans, disc brakes on front and 5 lug wheels. Custom tailgate, c60 grille, rally wheels (8in), custon front seat made out of Youkon 3rd row seat. Ran a 300hp 327 for years. Have been rear ended, rolled, ran thru a fence, miutiple transmissions, 2 or 3 rear differentials, 2 front suspensions etc

Fairly common problem that can cause a lot of aggravation.

Fred Also check the flexplate over real good. Have seen them have the center cracked where it's not easy to see.
