Your 1956 possibly has a later electric motor which is covered in greater detail in the 1956 Truck Shop Manual Supplement. Others will probably chime in soon with their experience and knowledge.

| | | | | Joined: Apr 2024 Posts: 237 'Bolter | | 'Bolter Joined: Apr 2024 Posts: 237 | OK, pulled the wiper arms off and turned on the motor. The transmission shaft appears to not be turning enough to do a compete swipe on the windshield. Only about a half swipe.

| | | | | Joined: Feb 2016 Posts: 1,989 'Bolter | | 'Bolter Joined: Feb 2016 Posts: 1,989 | I believe there is some adjustment on the linkage under the dash, there could be an adjustable sliding arm with pinch bolts, the longer you make that arm, the more degrees of travel will be relayed to the pivot posts. Remove the wiper blade/arm first, make any adjustments under the dash, run the motor and let it park, install the blade/arms and observe the stroke.
