Got a 4 1/2 inch grinder at Harbor Freight for $17 on sale. For the few times I will use it it should do the job. Will let you know.

Well Tony I got you beat. I bought a 4.5 inch grinder at a Tool Tent sale for $4.95! Now it don't have alot a power but it did the job that I needed it for!

Hey - right next door to where I work is a place called "Ducks" . . .they have 4.5" grinders for $3.99. I couldn't believe it but they have boxes of them! I haven't bought one because, well, I think they are surely junk, but for $3.99 - you could use them and then toss them. How can you possibly sell something like that for $3.99 and make any money? :rolleyes:

darn I got robbed.

The six pack of disc that I bought were 6.95! I know that this wasn't anything with any Power. So I knew that it would be a dissposible tool. I bought mine with a specific job in mind. I had to wire brush a 3" path on some concrete along my basement wall (aprox 70 feet). I bought a good quality braided wire cup brush (Dewalt $12.95) and it worked just fine. If I use the tool again I figure I will be making money!

I have seen the imports, probly OK for awhile. I have a Black and Decker 4.5" and it is one of my most used tools. Grinds welds, sands off rusty junk parts, and with Knot Brush cleans up rusty, cruddy parts for painting. You DO need good Knot brushes, the import ones are not tied and fly open wide, don't cut very well. I hope you wear goggles, stuff really flies, they go fast, and most times you forget to hit the part with direction right way, and usually get a "shower" of sparks or junk in face!
