I plan on coming with the family minus the wife. She plans on getting some overdue housework done. I'll be bringing the camper unless my truck finds a ride.
I'm *planning* to be there with Charlie. Maybe, as a group project, we could tackle Charlie's timing and carb adjustment so he will idle correctly ...
BTW, That was Peggy in the OP ....

I tried to think of something witty to write to mask my lack of participation here on the site, particularly since I don't really have any excuses. I came up empty....All that being said, heck ya, I will be there! I hope to get there Wednesday night or Thursday morning and get the grass cut in Camp Stovebolt prior to the masses showing up. Glen Martin has helped me gain access to the fairgrounds ZTR the last few years. Not sure what I am bringing at this point. I blew the clutch slave cylinder on the big GMC on Saturday coming back from a local car show. Getting it off and swapped out and bled will be fun. When I put this thing together there was no floor or seat or fuel tanks to contend with. Now everything has to be done from underneath with room for maybe one hand up in there. If the 860 doesn't make it then the '46 may just stay home too and it will be me and the 3800. Billy

Billy, I'm sure your ODSS brothers are aware of the burdens you've been carrying lately. As for me, I start everyday reading the WaPo and scanning the Metro section to make sure there aren't any "Man strangles entire board of directors" headlines ... But when I find one, just hold on -- The ODSS Black Ops Rapid Response Team (recently returned from a very successful, highly technical and thoroughly coordinated across multiple disciplines extraction mission) stands ready (with a month or two notice...) to liberate you from whatever hoosegow you may find yourself in.
As for Camp Stoveblot (yeah, well YOU try typing with these fingers!), I expect everything to be shipshape and Bristol fashion when the Quigulator blasts in.

Hey Billy, if you need/want some assistance getting Camp Stoveblot ready for Winchester, let me know. I’m not that far away and I even have a mower I could bring, but it did break an idler pulley the other day 😣

Rather a long shot here ... but ... would anyone be interested in doing any biking while we're there? (Hambone???) I can bring both of my bikes (the one I'll let someone else ride is a Raleigh hybrid -- road bike/mountain bike). But if anyone wants to bring theirs, we'll go!

I'm gonna try. On the 13th of Sept I'm heading back to Colorado to take another shot at Pikes Peak, how things go on that trip will determine if I can make it to Winchester. I'll have to go home first to drop somebody off and pickup the engine.

Dad and I are planning on making it again this year. We really enjoy the big trucks, laid back atmosphere, and most of all the Stovebolt Fellowship! I believe we will be there Thursday--Saturday.
If you believe, and earnestly so, it will *be* so. I will be glad to have your company there!
Safe journeys!

I just realized I need to get busy and get Doughboy ready for Winchester. I haven’t had it on the road since last Winchester. I been a bad boy ☹️

Hello fellas. I will be making a very strong effort to be at Winchester for this great gathering with all of you! I haven't missed one since I met all of you. I have not swapped out my tired original tranny yet in my old black pick up, but I believe it is capable of another journey across the state! I'm going to do my best to get there. I sure miss seeing everyone and I got a good laugh reading the comments here, as always. My fall schedule is full of enjoyable events that are desperately needed and I surely don't want to miss this one to get my fun schedule started off right!!
Hope to see you there Jim. Looks like the weather is going to be MUCH better than last year!

Guess I’ll never hear the end of it if it changes for the worse. I may need to reconsider my attendance if it does - but not because of the weather. 😊

Well, rain and trains are normal occurrences at a truck show. We've been through some doozies. Although, something about last year (Saturday) has left an indelible mark in my memory. I don't think I have ever been so glad to be home safe and sound, albeit wet, tired, muddy and hangry. Maybe I will through the pop-up in the MH just in case. Maybe that will ward off any inclement weather. Maybe an additional 18 pack of samiches too....
We will have fun, no doubt. We always find a way. Maybe we will have to bring back golf cart mud boggin..

Samiches? No samiches for you! I am looking forward to seeing you all in a few days. Well some of you. Hope to make the drive on Wed for wed PM arrival only if the arrival party is in place.

Doug ... Are you headed to Lexington before or after Winchester? I have some stuff for Grigg the Elder if it works out that you could take it to him (if he doesn't join us at Tri State)

Just a note to the ODSS folks related to Winchester. Stewart (S2) posted a Freebies ad offering some goodies to fellow Bolters, but only if they can be picked up. He mentioned:

Looks like I'll be trailering Bill Stanley's 48. Pop finished the bodywork and paint and it's looking very nice. I got Bill a hotel.
I'll sleep in my tent, and will carry the Blackstone and some beverages. Looking forward to a safe ride over and down. We should be there Thursday just ahead of the rain.
