I have a new project!A '37 1 1/2 ton and would like to identify the engine etc. as well as original equip. and set-up. My truck has a plate on the firewall that says GMC T-16 B, Chassis #28782 straight rating 11000 lbs. It is a duelly with a flathead 6, four speed w/ 2 speed rear.The casting # on the block is GM 408004-3, the registration states that the engine # is T49470,, but I havent confirmed that that coincideds with anything, most of the info I have been able to find is Chevy specific... Any help or leads will sure be welcome, it's a long way to go from here... Thanks, Cheers,

The T-16B has a wheelbase of 157 inches. The original engine is a 230 cu in Oldsmobile. I show a block casting number 408003. The engine number will be at the top front driver side just below the head, stamped on a machined boss. The T indicates a truck engine which had a few differences from the passenger engine. Primarily cam, carb and no vacuum advance on the distributor.
