Hey guys, I told you I would let you know how my trip to pick up my 59 viking 60 went. Well here goes. After searching all week, I could not find a heavy equipment trailer to rent. So at the last minute I found a 17' Bobcat trailer, and figured it would have to do. We(the wife and I) left our house in Whittier, CA at 6AM, and arrived in Brentwood, CA (360 miles away) at 11:30am. After meeting with the owner(very nice guy)and getting the beast loaded up, we hit the road. I knew the weight distribution on the trailer was all wrong, but I did not have much choice. Much to my disapointment, anything over 45 MPH and "the tail wagged the dog" as they say! The trailer sway was pretty bad and nerve racking. But we trucked on, at 40-45MPH some 320 miles to the trucks new home. It took about 9 hours to get there. We unloaded the truck and headed for home, arriving at 1:30 am. Needless to say, my wife and I were exhausted. Hows that for stovebolt dedication? See the pics

Glad you made it back safely. Looks like you got a good solid bed on that truck!

Did it load under it's own power, or did you have to winch it on?

Glad you made it! I like the bed on that truck.

A trick worth thinking about is to remove the outer duals. Its often fits on the trailer a little better, and you can then move a couple hundred pounds from the back of the trailer into the bed of the tow vehicle.

You wife (I assume) looks like my wife does when I go on my mechanical aqusition missions! As if "I love this guy, but he sure likes wierd stuff!" Beauty Truck Glamis! I'm also impressed that your Silverado pulled it! I have had my Sierra loaded to the gills though!

It's great to hear that all went well. My wife would not be good company on a white knuckle ride like that.

Congrats to the both of you.

Thanks guys. The Guy I got it from pushed it up with a tractor. I tied it down with chains and binders in the front, and ratcheting tie downs in the back. Yeah my wife was quite the trooper, to say the least. "I love this guy, but he sure likes wierd stuff!" couldnt be more accurate!
